The Biking Solution Announces Formation of New Member-Owned Co-op

Manchester, NH (February 2, 2009) — The Biking Solution (TBS) has teamed up with the YaYa/Mobeus Co-op to form a new retailer-owned cooperative, named The Bike Cooperative (TBC). Starting in 2009, TBC will offer members stock ownership, full voting rights within the group, and the ability to earn rebates on purchases.

“Since 2003, TBS has leveraged the strength and scale of our collective membership to negotiate savings for our members on everything from credit card rates and financing fees to insurance premiums,” said TBS managing director Greg Brodsky.  “We’ve also developed the best training programs in the industry, as well as powerful, customizable advertising programs for direct mail, email and loyalty programs. The next logical step was to help our retailers negotiate better rebates on product.  Our parent company, CCA Global Partners, has a phenomenal track record of developing, building and managing highly successful cooperatives for over 3,600 independent retailers in other industries. We know how to create strategic partnerships that benefit our members.”

The Ya-Ya/Mobeus Cooperative has innovated marketing concepts like Client Care, and has created both a powerful dealer community and a base of cooperating vendors.  By combining programs and resources from TBS and Ya-Ya/Mobeus, The Bike Cooperative will use the buying power of both groups to develop new programs, improve its economies of scale, and extend their vendor relationships into new and profitable areas.  Brodsky adds, “Each retailer will truly benefit from the power of all.”
