Lighting One Announces Fall Convention

St. Louis, MO (April 9, 2008)— Lighting One has finalized an agreement for its upcoming annual convention for November 6-8, 2008 at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Florida located right outside of Orlando.

Gaylord Palms will prove to be a scenic backdrop for this annual event.  Few other places can summon such an immediate response as the atrium of Gaylord Palms™ Resort & Convention Center. Visitor are awestruck by the resort’s signature glass dome, where the Florida experience is showcased in all its glory — from the history and old-world charm of St. Augustine to the colorful and festive island spirit of Key West, to the mysterious waters and cypress of the Everglades.

Lighting One is carefully carving out the eventful agenda, which will include kicking off convention with the celebrated Annual Awards Banquet.  Pre-convention activities will include Education Day classes and New Member Orientation.  The 10-minute “information sessions” with suppliers will return this year as it was such a tremendous hit at its debut this past fall, providing benefit to both the showroom and the supplier by offering focused time together.

To make better use of time and energy, as well as to allow the members to map out their purchases after their initial viewing, the exhibit hall buying time will be split among two days – Friday and Saturday.  Another group of Education Day topics will be covered on Saturday following the final exhibits.

While the final products are still in development, Lighting One will once again introduce new collections to its renowned SELECT Collections.  In addition, suppliers will be able to offer Lighting One members advanced peeks at the January introductions and other offerings.

Social and networking time will not be overlooked during this convention as group events are planned throughout the convention to promote camaraderie among members and suppliers.  Open networking among members is deemed as one of the key factors to the success of Lighting One and this convention will foster it more than ever.

“We are excited about the upcoming convention.  We are fully aware of the economic conditions our members face and we feel conventions like this promote positive energy, networking, idea exchanges, and reinforce the power of our large organization,” commented Lighting One president Mike Cherico.

The November event will mark the 14th convention for Lighting One and the second away from the market center.
