Flooring America Awarded the Prestigious Biltmore Collection

Manchester, NH (August 13, 2006) — A hardwood collection inspired by Gilded Age luxury is joining Flooring America’s stable of powerful brands.

The Biltmore Collection from Anderson Hardwood Floors is a unique, high-end assembly of textured, chiseled planks in rich, brilliant tones based on wood styles found in the 175,000 square foot Biltmore Estate – George Vanderbilt’s imperial country manor house in Ashville, North Carolina.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer these elegant hardwoods,” said Bill Snowdon, Flooring America’s director of hard surface. “This is a premiere collection that has been meticulously created and presented based on the finely-styled woods in the Biltmore’s floors, cabinetry, and furniture. It’s a one-of-a-kind group with a lot of history, care, and attention behind it.”

The Biltmore For Your Home collection is only available at Flooring America, and other CCA divisions. Snowdon says the collection is so unique that Flooring America will make it a focal point of its hardwood merchandising.

The inspiration for this collection is a colossus of unrivaled grandeur, and remains America’s largest home. The Biltmore Estate is seated on 8,000 wooded acres and spans an incredible four acres – all under roof - with 250 rooms, 34 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces. The French Chateaux-styled home opened in 1895 after six years of construction. The Estate is the country’s premiere example of 19th century opulence.

“We can’t promise that you’ll live like the Vanderbilts,” jokes Snowdon, “but getting a Biltmore floor is a good start.”
