Carpet One Floor & Home Unveils Winner of Its Muddiest Buddy Contest and New Lees Spokes-pet

Names Rody as News Lees Spokes-Pet

Nashville, TN (July 23, 2008) - Carpet One Floor & Home, North America’s leading floor covering retailer, announced the new Lees carpet spokes-pet and winner of the Muddiest Buddy contest, Rody, at their Summer Convention in Nashville, TN.  After a six week search and over 1,000 entries received, five muddy finalists were chosen and posted on CarpetOne.com for consumer voting.  The votes poured in and the public favorite was clear.

Rody, an Australian Shepherd, from Gunnison, CO will assume his role as the new Lees carpet spokes-pet in November 2008 when current Muddiest Buddy, Bob, retires.  Rody’s full name is Cut’n Loose Ready to Rodeo.  He is active in agility training and loves the outdoors.  Rody’s winning photograph is proof that he has no qualms about finding a mud puddle and soaking in it.

“Carpet One Floor & Home created the Muddiest Buddy contest in 2006 in an effort to engage pet-lovers and promote the durable qualities of Lees carpet,” explained Frank Chiera, Vice President of Marketing.  “Rody will make a perfect Lees carpet spokes-pet.”

For each entry received, Carpet One Floor & Home made a donation to Delta Society, one of Purina’s many charitable partners.  Delta Society educates and encourages positive interactions and relationships with therapy, companion and service animals as a way to improve human health and well-being.
